COMMITTEES

Introduce yourself to new people, make contacts, gain valuable community experience and let your voice be heard! Chamber committees are a great way to extend your network and meet business leaders from a wide range of industries. Each committee focuses on a specific project and goal of the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce and each host programs and events to further their mission. The BACC offers seven committee opportunities, outlined below - join today and make a difference!

Leads Groups

The purpose of a leads group is to facilitate the generation of business leads for members of the group through a networking environment. These groups are combinations of individuals from the business community who meet once a week to share ideas, information and ultimately exchange leads/referrals. There are 6 of these groups that meet and they range in size from 15 – 35 members. Each group includes only one representative from a particular product or service.

Monday Noon
The newest group to form, this group of 18 meets every Monday at noon at Homewood Suites by Hilton. Chamber Liaison - Abby Turner. Moderator - Brandi Minshew, Centre Staging.

Tuesday Morning
This group is very focused on building relationships and is 18 members strong. The group meets every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. at The Chamber Center.  Chamber Liaison - Abby Turner. Moderator - Kristin Basiaga, ABC/FOX Television.

Wednesday Morning
Currently 24 members strong and growing!, meets at The Chamber Center at 8 a.m. Chamber Liaison - Karri Clark. Moderators - Kris Moos, Moos Financial and Deb Gebhart, MetLife Home Loans.

Thursday Noon Chamber
One of two groups who meet over the noon hour, this group meets at The Chamber Center. The group has 22 members but is always looking for new members with which to network. Chamber Liaison - Abby Turner, Moderator - Carol Farris, CS and Company.

Thursday Raptors
This is group that meets over the noon hour on Thursdays and has 15 members. This group is currently meeting at the C'Mon Inn. Chamber Liason - Betty Harmon. Moderator - Doris Ericson, Quite A Lot, LLC.

Friday Morning
The Friday morning group is for all those early risers out there; the group consists of 11 members. They gather at 7:30 a.m. at The Chamber Center. Chamber Liaison - Betty Harmon, Moderator - Georgia Schmidt, USBank.

Friday Noon (TGIF Group)
With 5 members, this group has become very close knit. They meet at The Chamber Center. With a name like TGIF need we say more!

Convention & Visitors Bureau Committee

Mission
Bring increased revenues to the community through promoting Bozeman as both a tourist destination and a desirable location for conferences and meetings.

Strategies & Programs
Support maintaining the accommodation tax and its use to promote tourism; build partnerships to increase the diversity of the CVB committee; manage for a sustainable high-quality visitor experience; educate the community about the benefits of tourism; be mindful/protect our natural resources which visitors and residents enjoy; promote/support a strong vital downtown. Gallatin Valley Government Affairs Committee

Mission
To inform membership of business legislation and advocate for business points of view to city, county, state and national representatives.

Strategies & Programs
Lobby for pro-business legislation at the legislature; monitor Bozeman City Commission activities and aggressively advocate on behalf of business issues; identify and support pro-business candidates for elections; hold open forums on issues that affect businesses and the community; inform members of candidates' position on business issues; provide information to board of directors for the purpose of position papers; educate members on issues. young professionals Group

Mission
The BACC YPG is made up of motivated, energetic young professionals certain to become the community's future leaders. YPG offers its members a way to link their personal passions with professional ambitions. YPG encourages members to get involved and make a difference by becoming active participants in the professional, civic and social aspects of Bozeman.

MSU/Chamber Relations Committee

Mission
Facilitate cooperation between Montana State University and the business community.

Strategies & Programs
Plan and execute annual Awards for Excellence Banquet at Montana State University in conjunction with the MSU Alumni Office; select and honor annual Community Excellence award recipients; coordinate President's Roundtable to strengthen communication between the community and the University; promote Homecoming; provide community information to incoming MSU freshmen during orientation; participate in MSU Move-in-Day. TED Lunch and Learn logoTraining, Education and Development Committee (TED)

Mission
Plan and execute beneficial and unique training programs and educational sessions for the Bozeman business community.

Strategies & Programs

Coordinate monthly Business After Hours events; plan and execute Operation Thank You and Volunteer Thank You; maintain an effective Member-2-Member discount program; support membership retention and recruitment efforts; poll the membership on pertinent issues.

Agriculture CommitteeGallatin Valley Agriculture Committee

Mission
Promote agriculture in Gallatin County through recognition of farmers and ranchers, support of area students studying agriculture, legislative involvement and education.

Strategies & Programs
Organize and sponsor annual Agriculture Banquet; coordinate Pitchfork Fondues; work with the Gallatin County Fair to provide programs for small acreage owners; raise scholarship funds for Gallatin County students studying agriculture at Montana State University; continue to contribute to an endowment fund set up by the Agriculture Committee to provide future scholarships for Ag students; coordinate student breakfasts for state FFA competition; participate in Agriculture Appreciation Day at the State Legislature; work together with the communities of Bozeman, Belgrade, Manhattan and Three Forks.
